Southwest Invitational (SWIFA #2)
The Southwest Intercollegiate Fencing Association is excited to announce the annual Southwest Invitational hosted by the Texas State University Fencing Club. Last year, over 150 fencers made it an event to remember, and this year we expect it to be even bigger! The Southwest Invitational is a collegiate, team-based event where schools from around the country will compete for gold in team epee, foil, and sabre, as well as the title of Grand Champion -- awarded to the university team whose squads place the highest across the board. A round of pools will be followed by a fence-to-place elimination bracket -- a style of tableau where you fence the same number of matches as the team who goes all the way. If you're a club interested in attending, an organization looking to sponsor the event, or simply wanting additional information for another reason, contact the SWIFA team on Instagram (@southwestifa) or by email (swifa.clubs@gmail.com). Hope to see you in Texas this November!
